Big Picture : White Winter in Russia

With the recent release by Battlefront of its Polish Armored Train I was trying to remember where I saw a battle involving a train, and then I found the picture I was looking for. This game "White Winter in Russia" wasnrun by the Southend-on-Sea Wargames Group at Salute 2009. It  was based on 20mm miniatures and a converted train set to represent a Partizan attack on a German supply train.

    Lovely picture, watched a terrible WW2 movie on TV recently that featured a russian one that looked good but the movie was awful, truly awful, badly dubbed and on one of those film channels 6 or 7 clicks after Film4 before they show something with a little nudity.

    I have always fancied an armoured train. there are a few available in plastic but they are not cheap.

    ..it felt appreciably colder just standing next to that layout despite us being indoors!!
