August Book Roundup

Its been yet another very slow month as far as reading or even painting is concerned, so I actually have nothing to review for August. I've been officially Unemployed by means of redundancy for a month now, but despite the sudden increase in 'free' time I don't seem to have found the time or the motivation for anything hobby related. August seems to have shot past in a blur of job hunting, interviews, housework and summer family activities, including a short holiday to Devon. But today the wife went back to work at her school and I have to admit the house seems terribly quite without her around. My daughter goes back to school on Thursday and then the solitude will really hit home. Guaranteed I'll be talking to myself before the first day is over!!

Unemployed but happy: Me at the Cobbaton Combat Collection while on Holiday in Devon last month.

I haven't been entirely idle though. I've been spending a lot of time job hunting online and once we settle into a new term-time routine I'm going to gear up my efforts, get out and visit some agencies and start knocking on doors (metaphorically speaking). I have been applying for a lot of jobs, but not nearly as many as I would like.  I really need to get some turnover going to generate more interviews and more opportunities. I'm also determined to schedule some proper hobby time each day (after the housework is completed of course!) and get some reading done, so maybe I'll actually have something to review next month!

  2. Hope the hunt is a short one but also that you land something that you will half way enjoy.
    Cheers

  5. Good luck with the job hunt - I sympathise with your circumstances. I was there last year. Something will turn up. Keep positive, keep busy with that crazy housework and get modelling. This is only a phase - make the most of it...

Thank you for leaving a comment. I always try to reply as soon as I can, so why not pop back later and continue the conversation. In the meantime, keep rolling high!
