Toy Soldiers - Life Guards

Continuing the occasional series of pictures of Toy Soldiers.

These Life Guards by William Britons Ltd c1930. The company was founded by William Britain Jr., who invented the process of hollow casting in lead in 1893. This revolutionary technique soon made the company a market leader. By 1931 - about the time these figures were made - the company employed 450 people in its London factory and its catalogue included over 400 sets.
