I now have a tube I stick out of the window and whack on the spray booth. It sucked out all the bad stuff but you do get the smell of primer drying on the figures which can upset the wife.inreposehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01808052726738684756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-59162956428928058942010-12-24T10:02:02.076+00:002010-12-24T10:02:02.076+00:00Good post BigLee, I always wondered what would hap...Good post BigLee, I always wondered what would happen if I went out on a Snow Day to spray my little men.Justinhttp://www.modeldads.co.uk/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-83711302524140554092010-12-22T23:20:24.610+00:002010-12-22T23:20:24.610+00:00I was once spraying miniatures outside, donkeys ye...I was once spraying miniatures outside, donkeys years ago when I was a teenager, and this old man thought I was a vandal and threatened to call the police! lol!Bartenderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16391585974813638098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-22709654092241978412010-12-22T15:09:07.990+00:002010-12-22T15:09:07.990+00:00This is my normal procedure whether priming or cle...This is my normal procedure whether priming or clear coating. Take the can and figures out to the far corner of the yard, spray them, and bring them inside. A couple days later (lack of painting time) it still all looks normal. My experience of clouding matt varnish a few months ago however will mean I'll be using brush applied (Vallejo) varnishes for the nest few months though!Sam Patehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17141121566526149379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-33439268162687033542010-12-22T11:47:34.283+00:002010-12-22T11:47:34.283+00:00I find spray priming in snow is just about OK, but...I find spray priming in snow is just about OK, but I wouldn't recommend using a matt spray varnish!BigRedBathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05622983082204451158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-40192330568701602972010-12-22T09:56:05.864+00:002010-12-22T09:56:05.864+00:00Paul - I guess being 'inside' would mitiga...Paul - I guess being 'inside' would mitigate some of effects of the cold and you could work longer. The same advice still applies about letting miniatures and spary can warm to room temp before use though.

I should point out I don't know (yet) if this advice would hold true for varnish/dullcoat. But my (admittedly limited) experimentation shows no detrimental effect for priming miniatures.BigLeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00960213980906190335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-78511909871533942542010-12-22T09:38:44.125+00:002010-12-22T09:38:44.125+00:00Good advice.Good advice. The Angry Lurkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01227314379603418332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-50444707028339129382010-12-22T09:24:28.065+00:002010-12-22T09:24:28.065+00:00Nice one - I have something to paint and was vacil...Nice one - I have something to paint and was vacillating on the priming issue
Cheers
DonoghDonoghhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03575126069082006284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-26367527703599960702010-12-22T09:13:16.563+00:002010-12-22T09:13:16.563+00:00What if you did it in the garage?
