Catch that Tiger is, in my opinion, a work ...Yes... Catch that Tiger is, in my opinion, a work of complete fiction dressed up as fact. I wrote about it here and the Tank Museum have also written a detailed article about the claims in the book here.

As a fictional adventure story it was a fun read, albeit a little ridiculous in places. The problem I – and many others have – is that the authors have tried to claim their account is historical fact but have not provided any evidence for independent scrutiny to back up their assertions. Worse still many newspapers repeated, almost verbatim, the synopsis of the book provided by the authors, apparently without any fact checking at all. Modern tanks are much bigger but are often lighter. The Panzer VI is a heavy beast of a vehicle and its physical and psycological presence is obvious when you get close. It looks menacing and impregnable, and the gun is absolutely massive when compared to the pea shooter on the Sherman.BigLeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00960213980906190335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-70599447848341238772014-01-21T08:31:37.846+00:002014-01-21T08:31:37.846+00:00Nice piece of history!Nice piece of history!Barkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04389368754759452544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298399641711237003.post-27509091624415670082014-01-21T08:03:16.925+00:002014-01-21T08:03:16.925+00:00Very, very nice work Lee.
